Through guided tours, gallery talks, interactive storytelling, workshops, lectures, classes and other educational programming, The Loves Jazz & Arts Center seeks to inform its patrons of all ages of the contributions of African American artists in the Omaha region and nation wide. The Museum’s Education Department is responsible for arranging tours, customarily half an hour to an hour in duration, offered to children and adults groups and to school groups, pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.
Exhibit-based guided tours and kiosks are designed to enhance exhibit theme and content and to correspond to established educational goals. Additionally, special programming is provided for Kwanzaa, Black History Month, and during the summer months.
The Museum, in its efforts to further the mission of its Education Department, collaborates with Omaha Public Schools, The Board of Education, The Black Teachers Association of Nebraska, and other museums in the Nebraska region.
