ABOUT LJAC

The Loves Jazz & Arts Center is located in the heart of historic North Omaha on the corner of 24th and Lake Street. This area was once the anchor of a thriving commerical district for African Americans. The center is less than a block from the once famous Dreamland Ballroom. The facility is a 8000 square foot state of the art facility featuring the Preston Love gallery, a performing arts area, exhibition spaces, a digital media lab, and a gift shop along with classrooms and administration space. EXHIBITIONS

Through guided tours, gallery talks, interactive storytelling, workshops, lectures, and other educational programming, the Loves Jazz & Arts Center seeks to inform its patrons of all ages of the contributions of African American artists in the Omaha region and nation wide. Exhibit-based guided tours illuminate the theme and content and correspond to established standardized goals.
